In the middle of 2021, we are still living with a global pandemic. Our primary concern is now health, both mentally and physically. Staying fit and sane is what we are achieving during this uncertain situation, making sure that everyone around us is safe. It is a story about my personal experience, I switched jobs during the pandemic, and I could not be more grateful for how ALTO Network, the company I am now a part of, treats its people.

100% Work from Home

ALTO Network has been implementing the Work-From-Home arrangement since March 2020, and I joined the company a year later, in February 2021. Some people said that the transition was a bit challenging initially, but that did not mean it could not work. The arrangement now gradually works very well! The only time a new joiner is needed to go to the office is to pick up their device on their 1st day (but since July 2021, we’ll deliver it), then all we need to do is work safely from our home. I did all the recruitment process virtually also. Honestly, even until now, I have never come to the office yet. Knowing the situation is up and down like now, this is a commitment done by ALTO Network to prioritize its people’s health above everything.

Virtual Events & Engagements

One of the challenges of Working From Home is having less interaction with people at the office and a smaller chance to get to know everyone. Luckily, ALTO Network accommodates this issue by conducting a lot of virtual events and engagements. Just right after I joined the squad, we celebrated ALTO Network’s 27th birthday virtually. There were performances by talented ALTO people, and what was more fun is we enjoyed the performances while eating snacks (yes, we got a goodie bag full of snacks sent to our home!). Now the events vary, we have our favorite ALTO Radio with games & quizzes, virtual meditation, training, and many more!

Free Vax for The Family

Another way that I think is important that ALTO Network does to take care of its people during this pandemic is by providing Care Package & Vaccination. This free vaccine is not only for its people but their families as well. So each week, we will check to make sure that everyone is fully vaccinated, and most importantly, safe wherever they are.

Timeline Management

Last but not least, timeline management. Doing everything virtually definitely needs a big trust. I feel very lucky, and I count this as one of the privileges that I am given the trust to manage my own timeline. So there is no need to wait for jobs assigned, or managers decide all the deadlines, tasks, and many more. Of course, it comes with a big responsibility, but that is the crucial part that I am continuously learning and developing.

Again, our health is the most important thing to take care of at the moment. Stay at home if there is no urgency to go out, check your surroundings, and always stay safe!
