Working and College Life.
if you have the passion then you will know what you are going to do
College surely offer us some of the options, we can study hard and graduate with a good GPA, or maybe we do some stuff in the campus organization that offers us learning to enhance our soft skill, or perhaps we do an intern or should I say working to enhance our work portfolio. Those are just an option behind many other options when you are still in college, there are a lot of pros and cons in those options, but here I would like to share my experience that about working and college in my life.
When I am still in the 2nd year of my college I also working as a social media specialist, freelance photographer, and content creator for a non-profit leadership organization back in 2015. Some say that the 2nd year of college is the busiest time during the college life, and it is the busiest time during my college life. There was a time when I do two things at a time, and I am not the multitasking type of person. I face the struggle for the first time and surely pushed me out of my comfort zone, mostly a lot of things that I planned are not working and many things are started to fall apart. A question pops out in my mind “am I making the right choice?” that question made me back to square one which is the reason why I choose this. I choose this option simply because I don’t want to graduate without knowing what I want to do after graduate or what my passion is, and the other reason because I want to break my own the stigma “Good Grade means you can get a job as soon as you graduate”, so I started to restructure again about my priority in life, learning everything to prove “I made the right choice” and “I’m wrong about it”.
For more than 4 years I hustle every day for those two reasons. I was a student at the University by daytime and I was doing a professional job at nighttime, so it is a goodbye for my great hangout time with my peers, a peaceful night, and a wonderful weekend. During those hustle times, I realized that I have grown so much. Things that I am not good at which is multitasking is now becoming “my best friend”, and the things that I already master it, most of my peers are about to learn about it. Most of my peers that already graduate, they are still struggling to find what to do after graduation and still finding their passion. It does surprise me.
Earlier this year, I got accepted to work as a full time at PT. ALTO Network as People Content Specialist. I am responsible for the content creator and employer branding. In the beginning, my Head of HR and my line manager once told me, if you have the passion then you will know what you are going to do and which area you need to improve to achieve what you most passionate about. For a minute I was like, “wait a minute I already did that that 2 years ago”. Another thing that surprises me; the multitasking part, I am so used to do it and it just happened like normal activities without I realized it.
At the end of the day surely it comes with a price, I am still on my final year college and my parents are still asking me when will I graduate? The bright side of it is that I know what I am going to do and I know what I’m passionate about and I’m pursuing my professional career passionately creating this content.

I would say “yes!” to both and I did not regret this option because I get closer to my goals. So, what next? To be graduate from college are one of my top priority right now and yet there is still a lot of things that I haven’t figure it out and I say yes to the upcoming opportunities and learning. Working and doing college is one of the million options when you are entering college life. Every option has its pros and cons when you are confused about which option should you take, asked yourself
“What do I want in my life and what do I want to be?”.
This is just one of the examples from a million different options the world could offer you, and I am proud of the option that I made. Decide yours!
